Kids’ books I like

Lost and Found (2005) by Oliver Jeffers. A boy finds a penguin and a friend. My 2 year old loves the hug at the end.

I Am Happy (2003) by Steve Light. My son learned the words “angry” and “brave” with this book.

Where is Baby’s Belly Button? (2000) by Karen Katz. I heard my 11 month-old chuckling in the living room as I was washing the dishes one morning. I looked in and found him lifting the flaps of this book, apparently delighted at finding the babies underneath.

Samantha let me know about your site. We have the Katz books too - a great hit with Jack as well. Jack also repeatedly requests all the books by Karma Wilson. Bear Snores On was the first one, but now we have Bear’s New Friend and Bear Stays Up for Christmas. I will eventually break down and buy the last one. Since we stumbled across these books we have given them to all subsequent babies that have come along in our circle. Watch the mail - one is on its way!

Thanks Shelley! What a nice surprise. The Bear Snores On arrived and is a hit here as well. The kids are turning into avid readers. The twins are always holding books up for me, and saying “Wanna read?” Okay, maybe I’m imagining that….
